Traffic Alert for Valnova Residents & Partners
Crews have made changes to the southbound merge lane on SH-16 as part of the Valnova Overpass Project. The length of the lane has been shortened to set up traffic control for the project.
For motorists turning left out of Valnova to go southbound on SH-16: This means there is less room in the merge lane. This will act more like a center turn lane to pause in, rather than an acceleration lane.
In addition, tubular markers were reinstalled to help drivers see the merge lane and avoid turning directly into the southbound SH-16 lane. Signage will also be put up to help with the navigation of the work zone.
The project team is working with ITD and the contractor on changes to the traffic control plan to ensure safe access in and out of Valnova during construction.
